The guilty pleas just keep on coming. Last month, Navy Lieutenant Todd Dale Mal-aki, 44, of San Diego, CA, became the eighth individual to plead guilty in what the Department of Justice says is "an expanding probe into corruption and fraud in the U.S. Navy." The Glenn Defense Marine Asia (GDMA) bribery and corruption case, known in Navy circles as the "Fat Leonard" affair, after the company's leader Leonard Glenn Francis, involves "scores" of U.S. Navy Officials engaged in a decade-long conspiracy where GDMA defrauded the Navy out of tens of millions of dollars; and millions of dollars in bribes and gifts exchanged hands.
