Pressure within the industry to switch to lower sulphur fuel oils (LSFOs) is set to increase this year, as both the North Sea and English Channel become SOx Emission Control Areas (SECAs). With the North Sea SECA 1.5% limit commencing in November, owners have relatively little time left to decide how to best respond to the new legislation and remain on the right side of the law.
