The last 12 months have been characterised by frenetic activity in the engine builder sector — and not only in terms of trying to meet the demands of apparently gravity defying order books — an intensified focus on emissions and the environment, both the fiftieth anniversary of the con-tainership and the launch of the world's largest vessel of this type, hyper-activity for classification societies (see this month's news pages) and powerful new initiatives from the publisher of this magazine the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).
