Steam turbogenerators for FPSOs

Peter Brotherhood's expertise in the design and manufacture of steam turbine driven generator sets for use on floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels has led to the company securing another multi-million pound order from Single Buoy Moorings (SBM). The Peterborough, UK, company has already supplied SBM with eight steam turbine driven generator sets in the past five years -this latest order is for two 14MW condensing steam turbine driven generator sets for the Espirito Santo (BC-10) FPSO vessel to be moored off the coast of Brazil. The two steam turbine driven generator sets each consist of a turbine, gearbox and generator, all mounted on a common bedplate which incorporates the oil system, and a separate water-cooled condenser mounted directly below the turbine's exhaust.
