New technology for internal methods of NOx reduction is currently being developed and is expected to mature within 3-4 years. MAN Diesel believes that techniques such as exhaust gas recircula-tion (EGR) and scavenge air moisturising (SAM), and possibly a combination of both, together with water in fuel emulsifi-cation, should be investigated further.
