GEISLINGER DELIVERS ITS LARGEST VISCOUS DAMPER

Geislinger, a leading supplier of torsional vibration dampers and elastic couplings for high-output diesel and gas engines, and which is known for its tuned torsional vibration dampers, recently increased its product portfolio with a range of viscous type dampers which are sold under the name Vdamp.rnInitially, Geislinger was able to outfit different four-stroke engine families but now it has delivered a 1.6m diameter unit for a two-stroke application for a Korean built engine. The damper is intended for a 13 000dwt bulk carrier building at AKO shipbuilding in Turkey and powered by an MAN-B&W 6S35MC Mk 7 unit rated at 6037bhp at 173rev/min. The engine is being built by STX Heavy Industryand will be delivered at the end of this month.
