GE marine has delivered two LM2500+G4 aeroderiva-tive marine gas turbines to Turin-based Avio for installation onboard the Italian and French Navy's fifth and seventh FREMM frigates, respectively. The FREMM project marks the first application in the marine sector of GE's LM2500+G4 gas turbine, which is reported to have 17％ more power than its LM2500+ predecessor. 'The LM2500+G4 benefits from the outstanding reliability and marine operating experience of the LM2500, which has logged more than I3M hours in marine service,' the company said.
