MAN Diesel and Turbo bags Q-Max orders

Man diesel and Turbo has signed a contract with Naki-lat, Qatargas and RasGas Company to convert the main engines on a Q-Max vessel to use LNG as an alternative to heavy fuel oil in. The decision for the conversion has been attributed to a wish to reduce the ship's exhaust gas emissions. A MAN Diesel and Turbo ME-GI (M-Type Electronically Controlled - Gas Injection) system will be installed at Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM)'s Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard facilities in Qatar's Port of Ras Laffan.
