Generator Engine Camshaft Thrust Bearing Damage

During the regular inspection of a generator engine camshaft conducted at sea, a piece of detached metal was found. Further inspection revealed that the metal piece was from a thrust bearing. The crank deflection and the thrust bearing clearance were measured, and they were both within the normal range.
