The following conclusions are summarized from the study of the effects of different parameters on the tensile stiffness properties of the needle punched non-woven fabrics. 1. Cross laid fabric shows maximum strength when the load is applied laong the cross direction. 2. The relationship between the angle and the breaking load is approximately linear. 3. In case of parallel laid fabric the breaking load decreases lineraly as the directional angle of the applied load increases. 4. The correlation between directional angle and the breaking load improves as the GSM of the fabric is increased. 5. At higher needling density better correlation is observed. 6. An approximately linear relationship exists between the web weight density and the breaking load of the fabric for both cross laid and fabrics. 7. No significant influence on the stiffness property of the fabrics has been observed with the variation in the direction of angle. 8. Effect of GSM on the flexural rigidity of cross laid fabrics can be assumed to be linear with positive slope. 9. Co-efficient of correlation is better at higher GSM level than that at the lower GSM level. 10. Increase int he needling density results in the increase in flexural rigidity both for cross laid and parallel laid fabrics.
