摘要

Four different weaves with variable pick density and unchanged warp density with constant linear density in warp and weft were constructed to observe the effect of weave on strength and permeability of the fabrics. Due to the manner in which yarns and fabrics are constructed a large portion of total volume occupied by a fabric is, in fact air-space. The distribution of this air-space influences a number of important fabric properties. The tensile strength of the plain fabric was found to be the maximum and with more air-permeability than other varieties. More floats in the structure means less air-permeable.
