A method for producing UHMWPE anti-ballistic tapes that are lighter and competitive in terms of cost when compared with aramid-based armour systems has been developed by DSM of Heerlen, The Netherlands.rnThe technology, which has recently been protected by a patent, is employed in DSM's Dyneema BTIO ballistic tape grade.
