Amber offers Prepreg made from Natural Fiber

Amber Composites announced that prepreg with fabric made from sustainably-sourced woven flax is now available. The flax fabric, made by Composites Evolution, provides the high performance and easy processing normally associated with glass fiber composites but with lower weight and environmental impact. In addition, improved damping characteristics make it ideal for certain applications. The new prep reg is available in Amber's popular Multipreg 8020 epoxy resin system, a low to medium cure prep reg which can be used with or without an autoclave. It is suitable for semistructural and decorative applications in automotive, marine, sports and consumer goods. The initial fabric options are a 400gjm2 2X2 twill, and a 500gjm2 plain weave.
