Finance Minister Fias adopted a very modest approach in preparing the Budget for theFy2012-13 and largety focused on establishing a balancing act between GDP growth and fiscal deficit to the respective levels of 7.6% and 5.1% which seems to be more realistic targets to be achieved. The central plan outlay for the Textile Ministry toas increased by 27 per cent to ' 7000 crore for fy 2012-13 against revised plan expenditure of ' 5503.30 crore in Fy 2011-12. The Total Plan and Ngn-plan expenditure for the Textile Ministry increased 23 per cent to ' 7836.41 crore for Fy 2012-13 against ' 6445.57 crore in the revised estimates of Fy 2011-12.
