Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics of Merrimack. New Hampshire. USA, will introduce its barrier membrane technology Coretech at the Industrial Fabrics Association International's IFAI Expo in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, 25-27 October 2011 (Stand 2704). By exploiting its expertise with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) films and fabrics, the company says it has developed a technology for creating customized composite membranes, combining different polymers, elastomers and substrates (woven and nonwoven) to achieve unique combinations of properties. This allows it to produce lightweight membranes that provide a barrier to chemicals and biological agents, including those used in warfare.
