CAD /CAM -A Practical Approach In Textile Manufacturing

Basically a CAD system has programs or other computerized components that help to design a product. Textiles and computers are genetically related. CAD/CAM has been found an immensely useful tool in design and development of textile industry. With the advent of large-scale computer usage, there increased the demand for design packages such as CAD for the twin purpose of beating the monotony of paper-based engineering design and to represent use of computer in design and production timeframes. CAD is broad term used to represent use of computer in designing and CAM is term that denotes the computerized control of manufacturing process. Computer aided design and automated drafting are utilized in the in the conceptualization, design and documentation of the products. With CAM the total manufacturing details and quality of faults in the fabrics can be monitored continuously and effectively.
