QuickBooks 2012 for Mac is an enigma. If s a very good product that is easy to work with, offers a number of great features, is updated regularly, and is truly useful. But it lives under the enormous shadow that is QuickBooks for Windows-the application used by most small-business accountants and, frankly, a large number of Mac users via Apple's Boot Camp or virtualization software like Parallels Desktop 7 or VMWare Fusion 4. The knowledge that QuickBooks could be better (and isn't) makes QuickBooks 2012 for Mac feel like less than what it ought to be. And while QuickBooks 2012 offers compelling new features, it also suffers from some bugs.
