Lion Server: A Work in Progress

The latest release of Apple's server operating system-Mac OS X Lion Server-is as ambitious a leap as the change represented in all previous versions of Mac OS X Server combined. And in many ways, Lion Server succeeds in its ambitions; however, it's also hampered by a number of user interface annoyances and inconsistencies. While many of those problems may well be fixed in future updates, for now, using lion Server is a lot more maddening than it should be. Server.app is the new server-management program that will one day take over all the functions of the familiar Server Admin application; but right now it doesn't, which means you have to hop back and forth between applications to get things done.
