For once I am going to let the pictures do most of the talking as they simply ooze atmosphere. Suffice it to say that the four pictures on this page were all taken at Malakwal Junction, Pakistan, on 17th November 1983 -exactly 30 years before the scheduled date of posting this issue of LI.... The locomotives are all standard SP and SG types, of particular note is 3078 (top left) which still exists in storage / display at Mughalpura Works, Lahore. The other locomotives featured are 2964 (bottom left), 2411 (above) and 2448 and 2971 (below).
