The Darling, one of the latest additions to Sydney's Star Casino complex, is a five star hotel designed in collaboration with DBI design. The ground floor lobby is a vibrant space with plenty of characters. On the contrary, the spa is a calm haven with dark materials and play of rhythm. The concept was to seamlessly integrate lighting elements to enhance architectural features or deliberately designing selected luminaires to be the dramatic elements of the space, all of which had to be delivered under a considerable budget constraint.
