Cleaning Paint Off of Plexi

Hello LPM wizards. I do enjoy your straightforward approach to all things mechanical. My question involves paint overspray. I recently had my aircraft numbers and stripe color changed. When I picked up the airplane it looked good, but dusty (so I thought). After getting it home and a wash and wax, what I thought was dust was mostly paint overspray.rnMy question is: How can you safely remove paint overspray from a Plexiglas (windscreen)? The overspray looks like fine dust until you move your hand across it. Then it feels like fine sandpaper. Any advice you have I would appreciate before I let the paint shop fix (or ruin) my windshield.
