Practical Digital Preservation: A How-to Guide for Organizations of Any Size

Digital preservation is a challenging topic to write about and even more so to create a how-to guide. One of the popular metaphors for it is "interoperability over time" which is a challenge by itself because no one nowadays could be aware of the requirements of future users as well as of the technological platforms and infrastructures they will be using. In this sense, digital preservation is still an area of significant research; a major challenge is to separate the practical approaches and solution from the chaff of wishful thinking and experiments which will not be sustained in the next years.
