Crowdsourcing as a method of involving the general public has made its way into libraries - as multiple initiatives around the world have demonstrated. In October 2018, after a period of intensive research and development, the Austrian National Library introduced a publicly accessible crowdsourcing portal. It features a modern, engaging user interface and invites everybody to contribute knowledge. With this newly acquired metadata, library content will be considerably easier to find. The article illustrates the background of the project and further discusses aspects that need to be considered to set up, design, and implement a crowdsourcing initiative.
