LITA NATIONAL FORUM

摘要

The Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), held its Sixth National Forum in Norfolk, Virginia on October 11-14, 2001. The LITA National Forum is a three-day educational event that provides guidance and continuing education on current and future technologies for decision makers and practitioners in libraries and information organizations. The Forum theme this year was "Putting Technology into Practice." The Forum had over forty programs in six concurrent programs, three preconferences and three keynote sessions. The topics included: 1. electronic books and journals; 2. Web application design and databases; 3. wireless technologies; 4. open source software; and 5. standards, markup and metadata.
