TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION

The "TechEd" International Conference and Exposition was held in Ontario, California, March 24-26, 2002. Hosted by the Community College Foundation and held for over 20 years, this conference again highlighted new technologies, methodologies and pedagogies to promote technology utilization in the classroom and in general learning. The keynote presentation for which we were present was delivered by George Boggs, President of the American Association of Community Colleges, and was titled, "The impact of the learning paradigm on teaching and learning". Known for his research precision, his commitment over the past decade to perfecting the learning paradigm has wider applications to learning than those just found in the community college movement, even though it was in this environment that it became associated as something significant. It is more learning-centered, with an emphasis greater than that of the information or knowledge age of which we are a part, and also the learning paradigm expands the role of instructor.
