International Crimea Forum: The Eleventh Year Conference

The international conference of librarians and information managers, known worldwide as the Crimea Conference, is a phenomena in the life of the global library community. First opened in 1994 in the already far away Eupatoria, an ancient town of the steppe Crimea, this conference has lawfully stepped to the forefront of the major international gatherings of the library and information community due to the number of its professional meetings and presentations and, mainly, due to its popularity among the participants -librarians and information specialists; representatives of cultural, educational and scientific organizations; scientists; politicians; public figures; members of legislative and executive bodies. The role of this conference in the life of the professional community has been fairly praised by both the participants and those who learn about it through professional publications. In 2004, having become known and respected the world over and having drastically extended the original program scope, the conference has changed its traditional name (Libraries and Associations in the Transient World: New Technologies and New Forms of Cooperation) and adopted a new one: Libraries and Information Resources in the Present-Day World of Science, Culture, Education and Business.
