InfoEyes: A Virtual Reference Service for the Visually Impaired

InfoEyes adds an exciting new wrinkle to the overall virtual reference movement. The initial responses from patrons have been generally positive and encouraging. Accessibility issues and acceptable solutions are best learned through trial and error. All library patrons, including print-impaired individuals, have much to gain from the rich array of information and information services available on the Web. InfoEyes is helping print-impaired patrons - and the libraries that serve them - realize the potential.
