No CEO, business owner, or organizational leader should ever have to go it alone. Though there are myriad resources available for CEOs who want to learn and grow, there's no better way to combat the feeling of being lonely at the top than being part of a CEO group. Learning in communities is as natural to humans as breathing. Being part of a community that shares a domain, a willingness to collaborate, and a common purpose can be a truly transformative experience. Additionally, it's incumbent upon the CEO to ask the "What if?" questions. Unless you carve out the time to step outside your company and industry to meet with others and contemplate a world of uncertainty, it's unlikely to ever happen. The world is changing faster than most of us can imagine. Between 1950 and 2020, the world population is expected to have tripled. This staggering population growth will be accompanied by unimaginable changes in the years and decades to come.
