Cross-cultural communication at a theoretical and methodological crossroads: cultural and media interfaces

摘要

This special issue of Language and Intercultural Communication features the plenary papers presented at the second Cross-Cultural Pragmatics at a Crossroads conference at the University of East Anglia in June 2011 (CCP II). Like the conference, this special issue is intended to give momentum to the cross-fertilisation of theoretical approaches and methodologies. It brings together scholars at the forefront of disciplines with shared concerns about language use across cultures but as yet limited interaction: cross-cultural and intercultural communication and pragmatics, translation studies, social semiotics and beyond.
