Yarn and fabric production falls in Q4/2017

The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) has revealed that global yarn and fabric production both fell in Q4/2017. According to the Federation, global yarn production decreased by -23% between the third quarter of 2017 and the fourth. The figures show that output reductions of -23% in Brazil and -4% in the US balanced out the 12% rise in Africa and Europe's growth of 15%. The figures were based on detailed surveys with participating countries. All countries surveyed, except Brazil and Germany, expect a decrease in yarn output in Q1/2018.
