摘要

On-line grinding of hot roller is one of effective ways to keep higher product quality and higher rolling efficiency of hot strip rolling mill. Combining with the development of new type ORG (On-line Roller Grinder) for the 1580 hot strip rolling mill, geometrical analysis of end-face cylindrical grinding with cup-type CBN wheel is made, including effects of grinding parameters on the length of wheel-workpiece contact line, the wheel-workpiece relative sliding velocity and the ground grain trace density. The analysis results show that increasing the offset value of the wheel center relative to the roller axis and reducing the roller rotating speed can make the contact line longer. For the passive grinding (ORG without power driven), the wheel-workpiece slipping velocity is different along with the radius direction of the wheel, which makes the grinding results different, while the slipping velocity in initiative grinding (ORG with power driven) has a less influence on the grinding results. Increasing the peripheral speed of grinding wheel can markedly reduce the roughness value of the ground roller surface.
