Publisher's Note on the Editorial Transition at the Journal of Post Keynesian Economics

Over the past year, an editorial transition has been under way at the Journal of Post Keynesian Economics as Paul Davidson, founding coeditor of the JPKE with Sidney Weintraub (1914-1983), becomes editor emeritus of the journal as of Volume 37. The excellence and renown of the JPKE today are a tribute to Davidson's intellectual and editorial leadership over the years since the death of Sidney Weintraub, who brought his idea for a journal devoted to post Keynesian economics to his friend Mike Sharpe some 37 years ago. Thanks to support from John Kenneth Galbraith and Weintraub's foresighted decision to establish the model of a coeditorship for the journal with his former student, Paul Davidson, assisted by the late Louise Davidson, the venture succeeded magnificently. For his accomplishments as a post Keynesian economist, a mentor, and a journal editor, Davidson has reaped the admiration and gratitude of the many post Keynesian scholars whose work he has fostered over the years. Their ongoing support for the JPKE and their future contributions to the journal will ensure the continuity of the Weintraub-Davidson legacy.
