摘要

Dancing Cultures is clearly written for anthropologists seeking an intellectual discussion of cultural components that are created, demonstrated, and evolved by dance through interactions of native people, tourists, and governments. While globalization and tourism are included in the discussion of dance, the strength of the content is in understanding the composition of dance and the role dance plays in shaping cultures. Tourism scholars may find some chapters interesting but may need a background in anthropology to distill relevant knowledge from the details relating to specific dances.
