Like most guys, I'm an inveterate tinkerer. I think my Dad may have passed it on to me as I watched him fix appliances and lab equipment, lypically all that was required was a thorough cleaning and lubrication, but that was back in the days before designed obsolescence, the days before plastic gears and rubber belts, and the days before you needed a black box to diagnose your black-box problems.
