First Direct Evidence for the Mechanism of Δ~1-Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid Biosynthesis

We have identified C. sativa a new oxidocy-clase, which converts 3b and 4b to 1b. This reaction does not proceed through the generally postulated precursor 2. These findings cast serious doubt on the hypothesis that 2 is a biosynthetic precursor of 1b.
