摘要

Interlocked molecules,such as catenanes,pseudorotaxanes,and rotaxanes,have currently attracted great interest,not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their potential applications in nano-technology and molecular machines.Following the development of various template strategies in the last two decades,some classes of such topologically intriguing supermolecules are now becoming much more easily available than before.However,the synthesis of high order interlocked assemblies still remains a considerable challenge for supramolecular chemists.
