摘要

White light can easily be generated from SiO_2, ZrO_2 sol-gel thin film made with Ln~(3+)-doped nanoparticles co-doped with Yb~(3+) ions. Our control experiments prove the need for Ln~(3+)-doped nanoparticles rather than Ln~(3+) ion directly incorporated in SiO_2 and ZrO_2 thin films.
