Static chaos in polymer and biopolymer chains

We present here several mechanical or physical systems in equilibrium, consisting of repeatable elements, in which deterministic chaos may occur. The simplest is the following: a system of rigid rods in a plane, connected by elastic joints, loaded by a force. Some other systems are the following: 1) a system of rigid rods with vertical loads, 2) a system of rigid dipoles in an external dipole fields, 3) the Frenkel-Kontorova dislocation, 4) a deformable elastic rod loaded by concentrated moments.
