Dynamic analysis of railway vehicles subjected to linear creep forces

The behavior of the system of an unrestrained wheelset traveling on a straight track and subjected to linear creep force between wheel and track is analized qualitatively. The presence of two eigenvalues of a relatively large negative real part is confirmed. So there exist rapidly-decaying terms in time response of the system and the stiffness in the equations of motion.
