摘要

This paper introduces wavelets and investigates the feasibility of detecting various types of stator in- ternal fault of large synchronous generator with the wavelet transform (WT), particularly the dyadic-orthonormal wavelet transform. And the simplified analysis of the effects of the WT on detection of internal faults is present- ed. Because most fault information often presents as irregular and transient waveform, the proposed technique would be efficient and useful for the generator protection relaying. The simulation results show this new approach is suitable for application to protection devices.
