Patrick Cadell (1941-2010)

Patrick Cadell was a major figure in Scottish and international archives during the last decades of the 20l century, and for some time thereafter. As Keeper of the Records of Scotland between 1991 and 2000, he was a strong supporter of local archives in Scotland, working tirelessly to encourage local authorities to set up or expand their facilities and promoting the first comprehensive report on the state of local archives, An Archival Account of Scotland.
