Anthony Cains (1936-2020)

It was with great sadness that the conservation community learnt of the passing of Anthony (Tony) Cains on 4 November 2020 at the age of 84. Born in London in 1936, Tony studied at the London College of Printing and started his career as an apprentice bookbinder with Messrs E. A. Neale in 1953, before working as an assistant with Sandy M. Cockrell and setting up his own workshop in St Albans. He also taught part-time at Camberwell School of Art and Crafts, the London College of Printing, and the Farnham School of Art.
