Trust, risk and uncertainty are concepts inevitably bound together. During the last couple of decades social and behavioural scientists have shown an increased interest in unfolding the relationships between these concepts as well as in understanding their meaning and function. One important aspect is the role of trust in relation to risk management, a topic addressed in Trust in Cooperative Risk Management. Uncertainty and Scepticism in the Public Mind. This edited volume is based on papers presented at the Zurich Conference on Trust and Risk Management. One of the commendable purposes of the conference was to bring together trust researchers to explore differences in, and identifying a common ground for, how to study trust in risk management. In the 12 chapters of the book a number of leading trust researchers present both theoretical and empirical studies of trust in cooperative risk management.
