A Beginning Understanding of Caregivers' Spiritual Needs When Relinquishing a Loved One to a Palliative Care Setting

There has been little evidence of the importance placed on spiritual care by caregivers of palliative care patients. To establish what was expected from caregivers of patients who had been diagnosed with life-limiting illness, fifteen participants were recruited and semi-structured interviews were conducted. Qualitative analysis demonstrated that the importance of spirituality and spiritual care could be classed as positive, negative, or positive and negative.
