Industry Available Guidelines for the Use of Mini-Horizontal Directional Drilling for the Placement of HDPE Pipe

Technical Report TR-46, Guidelines for Use of Mini-Horizontal Directional Drilling for Placement of High Density Polyethylene Pipe, is now available to the public via the web-site of the Plastics Pipe Institute. TR-46 represents a comprehensive set of information supporting the placement of HDPE pipe by mini-HDD equipment, including for water applications. The guidelines are consistent with existing good practices within the industry, and also contain new information not readily available elsewhere, or in a convenient format for the user. For example, easy-to-understand guidelines are provided for proper drill rig positioning, as well as for proper selection of the pipe strength.
