The Carnegie-Rochester-NYU Conference on Public Policy is now soliciting papers for a conference on "Inequality, Institutions, and Redistribution" This Conference will be held at New York University on April 24-25, 2015. The papers and comments are slated for publication in the January 2016 issue of the Journal of Monetary Economics. Over the past four decades, the United States and many other economies have experienced dramatic increases in inequality of wealth and income. Lately, the study of the origins and consequences of inequality has gained strength. Political and economic arguments for and against offsetting this rise in inequality with redistributive policies and institutions have taken center stage.
