Applying the Cognitive Reliability and Error Analysis Method to DPS Accidents

Based on the results, we propose some countermeasures during DPS operation below. (1) DPS watch condition and night shift can be kept 2 navigation officer systems during DPS operation. (2) DPO and SDPO always get the new information to communicate the engineer and researchers in the field. (3) Thus, DPO always keep a position with correct information ofPRS and evaluate the condition of DPS. (4) DPO need to have appropriate break time during the DPS watch time. (5) In many areas of world like Arctic, climate is changing such as global warming and disaster. Therefore, DPO must under and pass a special medical examination. When DPOs operate the DPS, they must protect own body. Because of long watch time, the average watch time is 12 hours. (6) Nautical Institute logbooks are recorded the DP sea time and sing of the captain. IMCA DP logbooks are confirmed to be used the training record, own course, knowledge, skill and experience by all DPOs and company. DPOs can certificate their experience and career. Therefore, DPOs need to write down 2 logbooks after finishing their job.
