TRENDS OF IT HUMAN RESOURCES AND END-USERS INVOLVEMENT IN I.T. FUNCTION: A COMPARISON OF MANUFACTURING AND SERVICE SECTOR

摘要

The main objective of this study is to better understand the current and future trends associated with in-house IT human resources and end-users involved in IT activities, i.e., end-user computing. Data was collected from the manufacturing and service sectors in the United States. Regarding IT human resources, respondents perceived an average growth of 30.73 percent in manufacturing and 37.31 percent in service; meanwhile, end-user computing growth was 32.54 percent in manufacturing and 37.56 percent in service over a period of five years from the year 2016. In both sectors, growth in IT applications was ranked in the top three.
