MODERN TRENDS IN SUB-STATION DESIGN

Power is the backbone of any economy. In all developing countries including India, optimized distribution of power is one of the key challenges. In such a densely populated country like India, with population density 1150 persons per sq. km is the capital city, New Delhi. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power - DDL) is licensed and regulated company for the distribution and supply of electricity in part of New Delhi. Tata Power - DDL aims at providing safe and reliable power to heavily dense regions of North and North West Delhi. The area includes commercial parks, industries, villages, crowded residential areas and even heavily crowded JJ clusters. The number of customers has been grown steadily in the last couple of years in our area. To cater to this ever increasing demand for electricity, more and more Electrical substation at 66 kV, 33 kV and 11 kV levels are installed in the grid. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited is licensed and regulated company for the distribution and supply of electricity in part of the Delhi. As a result of high population density, availability of space for building Electrical Substation is scare.
