Water engineering projects such as reservoir infrastructures affect hydrological process and cause streamflow changes (Ahmadi et al. 2014, 2015; Akbari-Alashti et al. 2014; Ashofteh et al. 2015b, c; Bolouri-Yazdeli et al. 2014; Bozorg-Haddad et al. 2014, 2013, 2015; Fallah-Mehdipour et al. 2011; Farhangi et al. 2012; Jahandideh-Tehrani et al. 2015). Some researchers have studied how individual factors change the streamflow (Deitch et al. 2013; Ashofteh et al. 2013b). But it is found that changes of streamflow can be a result of different factors in a basin, such as climate variability and human activities (Hu et al. 2015). Generally, in such studies, various hydrologic models [such as IHACRES (Ashofteh et al. 2013a), artificial neural network (ANN) models (Bozorg-Haddad et al. 2016), the distributed time-variant gain model (DTVGM) (Wang et al. 2009), and support vector machine (SVM) (Aboutalebi et al. 2016)] have been employed to evaluate the impacts of different factors on streamflow variations.
